Easy compare and buy hot melt adhesives

Intercol has an extensive range of hot melt adhesives, even from other manufacturer we have a large database of countertypes, properties like melting point, heat resistance, bond strength, setting time, open time, etc.

We can be quickly contacted by phone, email or whatsapp, our technical experts may advice you one of our hot melt adhesives within minutes, preferrably, we will select a hot melt grade that is from stock available.

Melting point

The melting point of a hot melt is the temperature in °C, where the hot melt will change from solid to fluid. A typical Ring and Ball method is often used, where the ball falls down through a ring in a heated bath of transparent oil.

Viscosity

The viscosity of a hot melt adhesive is typically measured with a Brookfield spindle. The viscosity is mostly typical for an application, most standard packaging end of line hot melt equipment require a viscosity beteween 500 and 2.000 m.pas.

Setting speed

The setting speed of a hot melt may be important to ensure your boxes will leave the compression section and remain closed. Very fast applications (less than 1.0 seconds compression time) or high weight corrugated (high GSM) may require the adhesive to be very fast setting.

Shore hardnesss

The shore hardness is a value that indicates the hardness of a product. A needle with weight is put on a piece of hot melt adhesive, the deeper the inpact of the needle, the lower the hardness value. Hardness can give an indication of the flexibility of a hot melt adhesive.

Heat Resistance

The heat resistance is a standard measuring method indicating the heat resistancy of a hot melt adhesive which has been applied on a packaging. The standard measurement is done with an increasing temperature in an oven, with a weight attached to some glued substrates.

Colour

The Colour of a hot melt oftend ndicates if the hot melt is thermal stable, transparent, smelly or fast oxidating.

Form

The form, or packaging of the hot melt adhesive itself, may be prills or pastilles that are suitable for autofill hot melt systems. Blocks are not usable in autofill hot melt installations.
